Product Description

Epitalon (also known as Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the amino acid sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly. It is based on a naturally occurring peptide extract called epithalamin, originally isolated from the pineal gland. Epitalon is a subject of significant interest in the fields of cellular aging and longevity research. In scientific studies, Epitalon is investigated for its potential to activate the enzyme telomerase, which is responsible for elongating telomeres at the ends of chromosomes. Researchers utilize this peptide in cellular models to study its effects on cellular senescence, DNA repair mechanisms, and the modulation of the circadian rhythm through interactions with the pineal gland.

Research Applications

  • In vitro studies on telomerase activation and telomere elongation
  • Investigation of cellular senescence and DNA repair pathways
  • Research on the biochemical regulation of circadian rhythms
Compliance
This product is supplied for Research Use Only (RUO). Not for human or animal consumption, diagnostic, therapeutic, preventative, or clinical use. Purchaser is responsible for compliance with all applicable laws and institutional requirements.
